Rate of Cell Division in Onion Root Tip Cells

In this lab activity students use prepared slides of onion root tip cells to observe and record the number of cells in each phase of mitosis. From their data they calculate the amount of time the cell spends in each phase. The questions included encourage them to think further about the process of mitosis. Answers are included.
