Experimental Design and Controlled Experiments

In this activity, students learn about the difference between a hypothesis and a theory and practice making and evaluating hypotheses. They will learn to identify independent and dependent variables, as well as controlled variables and the importance of control groups. Finally, they will be introduced to experimental design as they are asked to design a protocol. Answers are included.
